Catching Up

Hello There! It's been a while since I've been able to blog. School, work and family has kept me pretty busy. I am happy to say that school is winding down and I have the need to do some selfish sewing. First up is the Wish Upon A Star blog hop with the lovely Carol at Just Let Me Quilt hosting. I love star blocks so I had to join in the fun plus I need to work on my scrappy quilt.

Boxed Pouch and Some Henna Work

Happy Humpday! Today feels like Spring, sunny and I could hear the birds chirping in my backyard. Come tomorrow, it will be rainy and cold again which is always nice because we need the rain here in So. Cal.
I have always wanted to make a boxed pouch so when my girls were organizing my scraps I thought it would be nice to pull a couple of the larger scrap pieces to make one. I was looking through some tutorials and what I found had unfinished seams on the interior of the pouch and zig zagged/overlocked to keep the raw edges from fraying. I don't like unfinished seams so I set out to make one with the seams all finished like a bag.

Upcoming Blog Hops

Just poppin' in to let you all know about a couple of upcoming blog hops I will be participating in. I love blog hops. They're a great way to meet new people, be inspired and push myself to make things to use up my stash.
First up will be Carol's Wish Upon a Star hop. Make anything as long as it has a star in it. I love star blocks. There are so many variations I can come up with.
