It's All About Unicorns

Since I've been so busy with end of semester finals and family activities I wasn't able to get my card done for this week's Tuesday Throwdown challenge. Please do check out the design team's projects. They're beautiful and we have an awesome prize from our sponsor, Stamploration.
Last weekend with all the celebrations going on in our family which includes an anniversary, Veterans' Graduation, and  commencement ceremony I also squeezed in about half an hour to go to my local stamp shop for their anniversary celebration. It's a perfect time to go make something and take advantage of their awesome sale special.

Stash Builder Box

There are many monthly quilty subscription boxes out there. I have been on the fence for a while trying to decide if it's something I would want to subscribe to. The prices vary depending on which company you would like. These boxes all have fabrics and other quilty goodies. I finally took the plunge and ordered a subscription with the folks at Stash Builder Box.

How To Align Quilt Sashing

As I was working on the past couple of quilts, they both call for sashing strips to be attached to the many rows to form the quilt top. It reminded me that I needed to make sure to keep the rows that have the vertical sashing strips in line with each other as I connect the horizontal sashing strips to them.

Embroidered Flowers

I managed to get a head start on my class assignments to squeeze in some time to test out this embroidery design from SewCanShe. This pattern will be available soon for free, I believe. The original design is 8" x 8" but Caroline re-sized it to fit my 5" x 7" hoop.

Enjoy Your Day

Just a quick post to share a card for this week's Tuesday Throwdown challenge. We are being sponsored by CraftyGirl Creations and the challenge theme is "Doodles". I am using the Rose image and using Copic markers to color it in.

Embroidered Convertible Clutch

Since I already had my embroidery machine out, I thought I would use Caroline's embroidery pattern to make another project. I have some leather that has been sitting for a while and have been wanting to use it.

Embroidered Pincushion

Recently I bought an embroidery machine because Amazon had such an amazing deal I couldn't resist. I had already bought DD an embroidery/sewing combo so didn't really need to buy another one but with an Amazon coupon and the one day deal I went for it. As it turned out, Caroline, at SewCanShe was designing some embroidery patterns and needed testers.

Mini Zip Pouch

I was able to take a day off from schoolwork to sew. It took all day because I had a design in mind for an embroidery pattern I was testing for a designer, which I will talk all about tomorrow. Be sure to check back to see what I made. Along the lines of making the original embroidery design, I wanted to make something else.
