Starburst Denim Quilt

Hello! I've been working on this quilt using denim fabrics for Art Gallery Fabrics. It was a secret project that I couldn't reveal until today. The participating designers were asked to use the denim as the main prints and incorporate various fabrics to create a scrap quilt. I love scrap quilts and this was such a fun project to make.

When I first received the fabrics, I noticed that the dark grey and blue denim fabrics have a wonderful soft feel to them. They also have a nice drape, not your typical denim. The scrap fabrics are from various AGF lines and these were also soft. These fabrics were so wonderful to work with. I am so happy to have had the opportunity to use these fabrics.

I used my Starburst quilt pattern and did a lot of assembly line sewing. I didn't want to add a border to the quilt because the blue denim triangles framed it nicely all around. I free-motion quilted this quilt using an allover swirls design. The swirls vary in size to help fill in small spaces.

The backing print is from the Heart Melody line. Such a fun print to use for the backing. I really loved making this quilt. I think I will make a bed size one with the leftover fabrics I still have.

Enjoy Your Day!
