A New Dress

While we went on a short trip out of town in November my girls and I went shopping and stopped by Joann's to look around. DD saw this beautiful knit fabric that she really wanted me to make a dress out of for her.

Christmas Stockings

This year my goal was to make new stockings for my family. I was on a roll then I got sentimental about our old ones so I didn't finish them until after Christmas. They will definitely be used for next year for sure.

Ocean Blue Quilt

A friend recently asked me to machine quilt a quilt she made for her son for Christmas. He loves blue and the ocean so she bought various blue prints and cut them into strips and stitched them together. Since the prints have swirls in it I went with a free-motion swirl pattern.

A Finish...

I finished this mystery quilt a short time ago and finally was able to take some pictures to share. In sewing this quilt, I was able to use up some scraps. It's not that big of a quilt and it was my first mystery quilt so I didn't add on to it.

Santa Sack Swap

This was my first year participating in the Santa Sack Swap. I was assigned Danette of Quilting Chemist. Danette has outdone herself with all the gifts she sent me. I LOVE them all. Her work is amazing. The beautiful flower went up on my wall in my sewing area. The Christmas mini quilt went with my Christmas decorations. I love my new stocking.

I have been meaning to make some new Christmas stockings but just haven't had the time. This year with the missing found tree skirt and me making a new one, I had a lot of pieced scraps left that I just couldn't throw away. I mean, who could throw these pretty fabrics away?

A Christmas Tree Skirt

As we were putting up our Christmas decorations Thanksgiving weekend, we couldn't find our tree skirt. I remembered that it got washed and rolled up before being put away. I must have put it in a really safe place because we looked everywhere and still couldn't find it. I ended up making a new tree skirt for our tree. I drafted up the pattern and got to work. I pieced the backing using Kate Spain's In From the Cold fabric collection.
