About two weeks ago I entered a fabric and free machine quilting giveaway and won. Thanks to Sue's generosity I am going to get this huge queen size scrap quilt quilted by her. I was procrastinating on getting this quilted with my home machine and I am so so happy I don't have to do it.
This is a Cozy Quilts pattern called Leftover. It's a perfect pattern for scraps.
Since this year is also about using up my stash and this pattern called for 7 1/4 yards for the backing, I decided to use up fabrics in my stash. I've outgrown these fabrics but I just couldn't get myself to let them go so now they've become the backing to my scrappy quilt. I divided up the measurements and started cutting up the squares. It didn't take long to put the backing together. Now this quilt is ready to send off to Sue. I can't wait to see it when the quilting is done.
I just have to show you this picture below. When hubby and I walked over to a nearby location at the park, we left a few quilts all nicely folded behind. When we turned around to walk back, this young man had the small quilts all nice and neatly laid out on the grass. The Leftover quilt he opened up to look at. I thought it was the funniest thing so I snapped a picture before he saw me. I said hello and he turned around and told me he didn't know who the quilts belonged to so he was going to watch them until the owner returned. We had quite a laugh when this young man left. Of course we had to re-fold all the quilts but that was ok :-)

I love scrappy quilts! Just ocmpleted my first bonnie Hunter with sew many pieces, 1568 in the center portion plus the borders. If I had known I was going to have to cut out that many pieces, I probably would not have started it. I used really old red and green scraps left to my church by a quilter's family. It is beautiful and I had sew much fun!
I love the quilt! Lucky you to win a free quilting job for it.
