ALYOF January Goal

I am hoping to participate monthly in this year's A Lovely Year of Finishes. First up are these stacks of Christmas bear blocks that I kept trying to put the quilt top together. I know, I know, Christmas was over but what a better time to get it done than now? I am going to be way ahead ;-D

A bit of history with these blocks. Many years ago when our children were young, I bought these fabrics to make a small quilt for them to use around Christmas time. I fussy cut all the little bears and pieced the blocks together. I then got sidetracked and put these blocks away. I then totally forgot about them until I was cleaning out my fabrics and found them. I have shown these blocks here on the blog and was going to get them done but never got around to it. In order to stay ahead , I am going to get the quilt top done. I have some white Christmas fabrics that I would like to use up. I haven't decided if I will use the white for the sashing or a red print. I'll have to play around with it and see what works.

I have a busy week coming up next week with lots of sewing to do. I hope I can squeeze in some fun sewing. Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Kim. I'm also hoping to participate in the 2014 ALYOFs but I still need to figure out how to do it.

Your Christmas block is cute, I'm sure they are all like that and can't wait to see the finished quilt.
