Pillowcases

Happy Wednesday! I've been working with our DD to finish up her Young Women's Personal Progress book and this is the last of it. She's been working so hard and I am so proud of her for completing this wonderful program. I hope that she will take what she's learned and carry it throughout her life.
On this project we were going to make a quilt and donate it but she wasn't feeling it so we decided that pillowcases would best but she couldn't make just one. She had to fill up the time so we started by planning, choosing fabrics, prepping and cutting everything so she can start sewing. Poor thing, it took her forever to iron out all the wrinkles from years of being stored in my stash.

I had her skip the accent strip to speed things along so she wouldn't get discouraged with all the prepping and sewing. When DD was all done with these pillowcases she said she's really happy that the fabrics are cheery for the children to have. We are going to wash these pillowcases and  pop 2 in the mail for the Conkerr Cancer and the other 3 will go to our local children's hospital.

Hope you're all enjoying the last days of Summer before all the kiddos head back to school after Labor Day.

They are great pillow cases and I know the children will love them.

Congratulations to your daughter on her accomplishment. I don't know anyone who doesn't love a nice new pillowcase.

I think that pillow cases are a very good idea, because they are quick and the satisfaction of getting something done quickly. This way 5 children will receive a gift instead of just 1.

Tell her she did a super job.
