I am done with my Gentle Art quilt. I did tweak it a little because of the charm pack I was using.
I had 6" charm packs from Dena Designs London collection that I was wanting to use up. I made my spools longer and floated them. After I finished sewing the spool blocks together, I trimmed it down to 5" and that created more space around the spool.
This is how I prepped my quilt for machine quilting. I did a simple meander.
I do most of my quilting on my vintage Singer. It gives me a nice flat surface to work on. I also took the opportunity to work on a binding tutorial. You can see it here. The way I do my binding keeps the seem going on the diagonal and reduces the bulk. The traditional way does too, but I like to try and keep things flowing the same direction.
Here's my quilt all finished.
I am going to use my jellyroll strips from the same collection to make some gifts for Christmas Through the Year. Did you make anything for your Christmas box this month? Hope so. It's so fun to see beautiful things for Christmas.

How cute, cute, cute!!! "Floating Spools", i guess they'd be wooden spools so they don't sink....(giggles)
So very pretty... love the longer spools... they remind me of wooden antique spools. I really like the stippling you did. Sometimes keeping it simple with one overall quilting design is the best!
Very pretty
So adorable... Could you make me one? ;-)
