Christmas Through the Year Link Up Party

It seems like time keeps going by faster and faster these days. It's already time to link up your CTTY projects. Can't wait to see what you all did.
So today, our little guy had to go to the swap meet for his Scout troops annual rummage sale. They had a ton of stuff to sell. We got up and ventured to the swap meet to look around plus we didn't have to pay to get in in honor of military appreciation month. I did get some fun stuff at a really great price. I'll share that another day. Today is all about CTTY.

Quilt Binding Tutorial

I've been wanting to do a quilt binding tutorial for some time, but just didn't get around to it. I know there's alot of binding tutorials out there, but you never know so here's my version. I like to do my binding this way to reduce the bulk at the starting point of the binding.

1. Cut all your binding strips to 2 1/4" or 2 1/2". I like narrow bindings so 2 1/4" is my standard binding size. I am making a scrappy binding so my strips are not the same.

Schnibbles Gentle Art Finished

I am done with my Gentle Art quilt. I did tweak it a little because of the charm pack I was using.

Faux Cupcakes

I spent last Saturday going to my local stamping store to make faux cupcakes with my girls. I was always curious to see how crafters made these.

Social Media Buttons and Schibbles WIP

Today has been a productive day so far. I cleaned up my sidebar and installed these social media icons. I got the icons from here. She's got a variety of colors to choose from. I then had to go and open up a photobucket account so I can upload the icons to create the link buttons. It was a bit frustrating at first trying to get the right code and troubleshooting, but once I got it in place everything worked out nicely. Now instead of all the images to go with all my social media pages, I've got these pretty turquoise buttons.

I also worked on my Schnibbles spool blocks for a little bit until I ran out of bobbin thread and didn't feel like filling the bobbin so maybe later I will finish these blocks. So far my shoulder is behaving. Hope it stays that way because I've got some serious sewing and a new pattern to work on.

This photo was from my instagram upload. It's so easy to just take a photo and share. I would love for you to follow me on instagram.

Enjoy your day!

Schnibbles Gentle Art

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday. Mine had a few surprises so it was wonderful.
It's been so hot for the past few days. I have been doing more papercrafting then sewing since my shoulder issues. My shoulder feels like it's better so I am going to attempt to cut and sew my Schnibbles Gentle Art quilt. Hopefully my shoulder will cooperate because I really miss sewing.
I still have a bunch of these fabrics from Dena Designs called London. I am going to use the charm pack for the spools and scrappy border and some jellyroll strips for the inner border. I still have a bunch of solid white fabrics that I think I will use for the background. Well, I'm off to get some cutting done.

Happy Friday!

It's been a busy but wonderful day. Our girls went to the prom that our church held. They all look so beautiful.
Since I can't cut fabric to sew at the moment, I thought I would share this picture of a baby bird that was in our back yard.
Every year there's a bird that comes to build their nest on the side of our house. This is one of the babies. The day after I took this picture, hubby said he saw them flying around with their mom. Well, they're off on their own now.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
