YW Activity

Once  a month I have an activity with the young women in my church. I need to come up with something quick and easy for the girls to do. Since Mother's Day is coming up and I have a ton of beads in my stash it was perfect to show the girls how to make jewelry for themselves or gift giving.

If you have beads sitting around. Now is a perfect time to break them out and make these bracelets. They don't have to all be the same size and shape.
This is my sample. It is made with just stretchy cords and various beads. I love the pink and blue combo for mine. It can be worn without the ribbon, but I tied mine together with a yellow 1/4" ribbon for some contrast. If you would like to make your own I suggest you use .7mm stretchy cord and use Hypo Cement glue for jewelry. You can find these at Joann's. This glue helps to seal the knot so it won't come undone. I just don't trust the cords to stay together on their own. Nothing like your bracelets falling apart while you're wearing them.
