Scrappy Pinwheel Star Quilt

I wasn't going to share this quilt until I had it quilted and bound, but I felt I really need to share it and get it out there. I was trying to make time to work on a tutorial for you all, but I had a bit of a hick up. Since these fabrics are flannel, which I might add I will never buy again at said chain store. I figured it was a baby quilt so it was ok since it's going to be used quite a bit. Well, that baby quilt turned into more of a lap size by the time I was done with it. First of all, I don't usually wash my fabrics. I only do it with flannel. The flannel shrunk so bad that I had to buy more to make this work. Guess what? I ended up with more fabrics leftover so I made another quilt. I will share that at a later date with a tutorial.

Back to my hick up. Due to the flannels shrinking and being really stretchy, I couldn't finish my tutorial because I need to double check my numbers and possibly make another quilt. Let me tell you, the number of squares for the borders do not add up even though it looks fine in the picture. At the moment, I am trying to limit the amount of time I cut fabric so my shoulder can heal. I have tutorials that I would like to share, but it'll have to wait until my shoulder is all better.

I also want to let you know that the linky party for Christmas Through the Year is still on until midnight tonight. If you have sewn something for CTTY, be sure to link up. The Intrepid Thread is sponsoring with a generous prize.

The top is gorgeous Kim, that's bad luck about the shrinking flannel. It's good to know, not that i am much of a quilt maker, lol x
