I spent the day working on my Schnibbles Hat Trick quilt. I am so glad I completed the whole quilt and not just the top. I am trying not to add to my UFOs because it seems that pile goes into a deep black hole never to been seen.
I was trying to get the hang of machine quilting on my vintage Singer yesterday since it's been a while and I feel kind of rusty. I practiced quilting some more today and I finally got the rhythm down so I got started working on my quilt.
I took a close-up of the quilting in a different location of my livingroom since I couldn't see the quilting on the photo of the completed quilt.
Here's my completed quilt. I only used one charm pack from Moda's Rooftop Garden and I had some jellyroll strips left from previous projects for the border. Since there's not alot of light prints in this charm pack, I used Kona Cotton for the background. The binding is from Joel Dewberry's Heirloom collection. I still have a TON of strips and scraps from the Rooftop Garden collection that I just need to use up so you'll be seeing more of it. I hope you don't get sick of it.
A note on the setting triangles. I cut 7 - 6 1/2" squares and cut once on the diagonal so I didn't have to piece the triangles together. I would have done so if my charm pack had really light background prints that I could use. I got that idea from Cindy :-) Cindy pieced her triangles and created a template. I went ahead and just cut one large piece and cut it on the diagonal.
That's all for me this weekend. It's been a productive week. Have a great weekend!
