Sewing Strips

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. While my family was watching tv over the weekend, I was itching to sew so I pulled out a bunch of my 2 1/2" strips from Moda's Rooftop Garden and started sewing them into sets of 3. I have 10 strip sets and I trimmed everything down to 42 1/2". Now I can't decide what to do with them. If I cut them and sew them into 12 1/2" blocks I wouldn't have that much to work with. If I sew all the strips together it would turn into roughly a 40" x 60" quilt, but the problem is that it would be a really small quilt and I don't think these fabrics are something a kid would like. The other thing is to turn them into bags and accessories which would be ALOT of them. I don't really want to buy more fabrics then I need to , i.e. linings or backings. What to do?????
Any suggestions?

Anywho, it's halfway through the month, I could turn some of these into some gift items. I hope your sewing machine is humming with lots of fun stuff for Christmas :-)
Have a happy day.

you could jump on the scrappy trip along bandwagon! If the quilt isn't big enough just put some borders on it...

You could sew a scrappy trip around the world ala Bonnie Hunter. You could make an xblocks quilt using the xblocks tool. I think I would do the trip around the world. You need 5 or 6 strips for each block.

I think they would make some really nice 9 patch blocks ;)

My first thought was scrappy trip around the world, too. But I also like 9 patch blocks. Good luck with your decision. Looking forward to seeing what you end up doing :)

Lovely fabrics! I think bags would be cute :-)

In looking at the fabric, I'd think about adding navy sashing to set off each block. I think that would look sophisticated and it would appeal to anyone.

I did post my February Christmas box item to my blog because I tried again today to post it your sight and it keeps telling me the page doesn't exist when I click on the Christmas box link. Sew so sorry for the inconvenience. Xoxo
